With VONK you can safely give your kids one of the most important parts of everyday life they are missing: playing with others.
VONK is a stay-at-home game for kids that bridges virtual playdates and real world play. VONK can be played alone as a short playbreak from remote learning or as a scheduled playdate activity with socially distanced friends or family members using a video call.
Kids trade silly challenges and do what they do best - play. VONK turns a video call into a creative and active playdate. With more than one way to play, VONK is good for solo play, a shared playdate or even a family-vs-family game night challenge.
With VONK, there is no special equipment required, no apps to install and it's free to play.
VONK was originally developed as part of the StartEd incubator at NYU as a pre-social platform that could be used by hospitals, libraries and families.
VONK is great for elementary school age kids, who are independent readers, ages 6-10 but anyone can play and enjoy.
Designed by two moms, Dawn Nadeau and Elizabeth Chapin, we have modified the original content of VONK to offer the silly play challenges that were the core of the original App prototype to be used as an easy print-at-home and play-via-video call game.
