WE CONNECT PEOPLE THROUGH THE POWER OF PLAY

Meet VONK

Founders Dawn Nadeau and Elizabeth Chapin bonded over a belief that play is powerful when they met through their previous startups. Elizabeth has an MBA from Columbia Business School and spent seven years at Apple before starting a cross-platform media studio for kids. Dawn created IAmElelmental, named one of Time Magazine's top 25 inventions of 2014. Prior to being a CEO, Dawn was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs and one of the original team members of Fast Company.

Our Vision

At VONK, we are empowering the endless possibilities of play. We want  kids, families and people everywhere to connect and re-experience the shared language of play and laughter.

Play

VONK is the Dutch word for "spark" and that's exactly what we aim to do - spark  imagination,  laughter and play in everyone. Play is transformative, connective and universal. Play is fundamental.  It is how kids learn about themselves, engage in the world around them and learn new things. Science shows that play is how we all, adults and kids alike, learn to be empathetic, social beings. Now more than ever, we need to spark imaginations, share a laugh and celebrate playful moments together.

Play Expertise

Greg Trefry / Co-founder & Game Designer, Gigantic Mechanic

“Dawn and Elizabeth have really dug into play and social sharing and through experimentation and iteration honed in on a very smart approach. They have great ideas; they test them and follow the engagement they see to smart new places and programs.”
